Villachbased semiconductor maker SEZ has decided to cut 50 jobs in all its divisions, SEZ said on June 26, 2008. In line with the early warning system, the company has informed local Labour Market Service (AMS) for the move. The staff reduction aims to bring the company's size in line with the tough market conditions and the corresponding lower sales.
Since March 2008 SEZ is part of U.S. Lam Research Corporation and in early June it delisted from the Swiss stock market. Currently SEZ has a staff of 550 in Villach, the Austrian province of Carinthia.
